Nico, la babosa de plátano (Nico, the banana slug) is a Spanish story that centers around Nico, a banana slug, and his challenges in crossing a road in Forest Park, one of the largest urban forest reserves in Portland, OR. The story emphasizes the importance of preserving and protecting the environment by highlighting Forest Park's unique fauna and flora. You can find this story as an ebook in the Multnomah County Library's ebook collection. Currently, I am working on the bilingual version.

As a member of Caminos de Crecimiento (Journeys of Growth), guided by Joaquín López, we are dedicated to personal awareness through reading and writing. Our 14-member group has authored a Spanish language book titled "Historias de Crecimiento" (Stories of Growth). This book features personal narratives, poetry, photographs, and paintings. Our objective is to conduct Spanish language workshops based on the book's themes.

These workshops involve group readings, discussions, and abstract painting activities. Topics explored include family, childhood experiences, overcoming adversity, and self-empowerment. In my contribution to the book, I share a personal story of how art saved my life during a period of prolonged bullying. Art became my refuge, providing solace and empowering me to navigate challenges with strength and resilience.
